Earth Friendly Valentine's Date Ideas

Valentines Day is around the corner, and if you’re like me, you can’t believe it’s already February and may be in need of a fun activity to do on February 14th. So, I’ve curated a list of my top 10 best Valentines (or Galentines) adventures you can try (COVID-friendly options)!

1. Scavenger Hunt In The City

Design your own scavenger hunt! I did this for my husband’s birthday one year, and it was such a fun way to spend time together. You can keep it simple or make it as extravagant as you like ~ you make the rules! All you need is a piece of paper, a pen and an open mind.

2. Bake Off!

Pick an extravagant vegan dessert each and bake together! Whoever makes the best treat wins. This can easily be done over zoom with your girlfriends and you have a delicious snack to enjoy afterwards.

3. Snacks + Movie Night

Make some vegan snacks, create the coziest nook in your home (maybe even make a fort) and watch a romantic comedy, or drama, or thriller, whatever you like.

Snack Suggestions:

  • Chocolate Marshmallow popcorn ~ air-popped popcorn, dandies marshmallows & vegan chocolates

  • Vegan banana split ~ bananas, coconut ice cream, cocoa nibs, raspberries

  • Vegan chocolate hearts ~ coconut oil, honey, cacao powder, combine & freeze them in heart ice cube trays.

4. Classic Dinner Date

Check the current state of the covid-19 guidelines before doing this one. If you are allowed to dine out with your household, pick your favourite restaurant and enjoy a safe evening out.

5. Ice Skating

Find an outdoor rink or your local community centre (if they’re open).

6. Learn A Dance Online

Find a random dance on Youtube or Tik Tok, and learn it with your partner or girlfriends!

7. Board Game Night

Grab your favourite board game and play!

8. Spa Day [At Home Or The Real Deal]

Buy yourselves some natural, plastic-free face masks (we love Sealuxe), and give yourselves an at-home spa day. Put on natural face masks, paint your nails, light a candle and sip on some tea (we love Woash tea).

9. Make Art

Get creative while enjoying a glass of wine (or mocktail). Use any medium you have at home, whether it’s simply a pencil, pen or paints.

10. Dinner + Wine [At Home]

Treat yourself to a fancy bottle of wine and make dinner together. Choose a new recipe or an old classic and spend quality cooking time together.

Bonus! Hot Chocolate Fest

For those in Vancouver, Bask in some Hot Chocolate Fest action! Various companies in Vancouver are participating in the annual hot chocolate festival.

Have fun and stay safe!
